Haitian soccer star graduates from Fort Lauderdale High Tuesday

Mompremier Fredlin PABA high school senior, who arrived to the U.S. from Haiti three years ago, graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School on Tuesday.

Fredlin Mompremier is not only an outstanding student, who maintained an average 3.5 GPA in school despite barely knowing English when he arrived, but a great soccer player who was named the Haitian Soccer Association’s Student Athlete of the Year.

“I remember the first day I went to school. A girl walking me to class and she was speaking, blah, blah blah. I didn’t understand a word,” Mompremier said. “Now I talk to everybody. This year was very good. I’m happy.” via | Sports – Home
