Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets in Port-au-Prince on Wednesday, setting up barricades and setting fire to trash.Port-au-Prince has been the scene of violent anti-government demonstrations in the past weeks over the legislative and municipal elections postponed since late 2011.The opposition accuses the Haitian president of preparing to return the Caribbean nation to dictatorial rule.They also demanded that long-delayed parliamentary elections be held. The Haitian parliament’s mandate runs out on January 12, which will leave Martelly ruling by decree. via PressTV
