Martinique wins Miss Global International — Jamaica Gleaner

With Ebola on the front burner worldwide and leaders internationally being accused of slow response to the spread of the disease, it was 18-year-old, Anne-Sophie Ribesois’ reasoning that had the Miss Global International judges in awe.Last Saturday morning, the Martinique-born beauty queen, whose first language is French, bowled over the five adjudicators during the pre-judging of the Miss Global International Pageant at RIU, Montego Bay.Ribesois, an advocate with ‘Doctors Without Borders’, says the response from leaders internationally has not been unanimous, “even though the disease has had a devastating impact on three West African countries”.According to her, the African leaders are doing as much as they can with limited resources, “but Ebola is a very difficult disease and all hands must be on deck”. via – Jamaica Gleaner
