Disagreements have caused political stalemate in Haiti: UN envoy | United Nations Radio

There has been no agreement on the required legal framework for elections to be held in Haiti. That’s what Sandra Honoré, the head of the UN mission in Haiti MINUSTAH told the Security Council during her briefing on Thursday. She said that when she last briefed the Council in March there was hope that the combined elections for the Senate, the Chamber of Deputies, Municipal administrations and Local Councils would be held by the end of this year. That hope, she pointed out, had been generated by the political momentum created by the inter-Haitian dialogue which resulted in the signing of the El Rancho Accord. via | United Nations Radio
