There have been moments to de? ne a career and delight a country, incidents that will be repeated on television shows this summer and every four years forever after.The 736 players who arrive in Brazil this month know they have the chance to depart as legends. Yet they will have to do something very special to merit a place in the top 10 World Cup moments.Here Richard Jolly picks his top ten:1. Carlos Alberto’s glory: The greatest World Cup, 1970, featured its greatest team, Brazil, and its greatest player, Pele. It finished when captain Carlos Alberto drilled his shot past Italy goalkeeper Dino Zoff to complete a passing move involving seven of his team-mates in a 4-1 final win.2. They think it’s all over: And, indeed, the 1966 World Cup final was when Bobby Moore above picked out Geoff Hurst with an inch-perfect pass and his West Ham team-mate surged forward to thump in his third goal. England were World Cup winners. Hurst became the first, and is still the only, man to score a hat-trick in the final. via | Daily Express
