Haiti: PM Adviser defends decision to not discuss D.R. Constitution Ruling

Appearing on the call-in show, Ayiti Debat (Haiti Debate), host by Garry Pierre Paul Charles on Scoop FM, callers criticized the defense of Manigat who holds no official office in the Haitian government and whose comments do not engage Haiti.

None the less, Nesmy Manigat said the Haitian government\’s decision to not discuss the Dominican constitutional tribunal ruling was in an effort to not take on the issue bi-laterally while other nations and regional organizations were responding to the issue. But this point is criticized by many who say the decision to discuss all other matters, with a sitting-Prime Minister in the commission would send a mixed message to the international community which had been applying pressure on the Dominicans. via D.R.
