Anti-government protesters hit Haiti’s streets | GlobalPost

Thousands of anti-government demonstrators took to the streets of Haiti\’s two main cities Monday demanding better living conditions and the resignation of President Michel Martelly.

Amid a large presence of police and United Nations peacekeepers, some protesters in the capital Port-au-Prince brandished Haitian flags while others carried plates and spoons signaling their need for food.

In Cap Haitien, the country\’s second biggest city, authorities used tear gas to disperse a similar gathering, according to local radio. via | GlobalPost
