The anti gay protestors were marching against an upcoming proposal that was attempting to legalise same-sex marriage.
Reports in the Haitian Sentinel suggest heavily armed demonstrators attacked several people with knives and bats, accusing them of being homosexual. Two men were reportedly beaten to death on the Jean Jacques Dessalines Boulevard at 1pm. It’s possible news crews shooting the march may have captured the beatings on film. Police have yet to reveal the names of the victims.
